Self Build Event at Downing Street

Ted Stevens, who at the time was Chairman of the National Self Build Association, asked me to help him launch the Self Build Association’s new website at an event in Downing Street. It was decided the event would take the form of a Self Build Masterclass and ‘self builders’ were invited to meet up with the likes of George Clarke, Kevin McCloud, Charlie Luxton, Tom Dyckhoff and Dan Cruickshank to discuss their self build projects once the website had been unveiled.

Housing Minster Grant Schapps MP, who was Minister for Housing & Local Government, welcomed everyone to No10. Alongside our TV celebrities and presenters, national and trade press were invited to listen to Grant Schapps and Ted discuss the huge potential of the self build industry in the UK. Of course we achieved an amazing response from national and trade press with editorial appearing in The Guardian, Sunday Times and the Telegraph.
